Violet was born and rasied in Riverside County in California, where she attended the University of California, Riverside for her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. She first came to London in 2011 through a UC Education Abroad Program and fell in love with the city's diverse culture. Following her graduation from UCR, she returned to pursue a Master of Arts in Film Studies at King's College London.   

violet-deltoro-california-bbq Violet began working with the University of California Trust (UK) as a part-time intern in 2013, before being promoted to Programme Coordinator in 2015, Communications Manager in 2016 and Marketing and Community Engagement Manager in 2019. She managed the UC Trust (UK)'s volunteer program, digital marketing and communications strategy, and events management.

In her role, she developed the UC Trust (UK)'s marketing and communications functions, launching a monthly e-newsletter, coordinating multi-channel digital campaigns to promote activities, establishing key performance metrics and producing original content for the website and social media. Working with the UC Alumni UK Board, she helped two new campus networks launch (Santa Cruz and Riverside), established two All UC alumni programs (Mentorship and Charity Gala), and played an integral part in launching the All UC Alumni France Board in the summer of 2019. She also led the coordination of flagship UC Trust (UK) activities such as the UC California Cruise, The Cultural Joy of Crossed Borders: An Evening with Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, The 2016 US Presidential Election: How Did We Get Here & Where Are We Going, plus many more.

In early 2020, Violet joined the University of California, San Diego team as Director of Development & Community Engagement, Europe. Her role seeks to engage the Triton community in the UK and European countries, to encourage volunteer leadership and philanthropy. 

In her spare time, Violet is a happy supporter of many charities and social causes, and has worked with a variety of organisations including Changemaker Chats, The Nomad Cinema and Hackney Winter Night Shelter.

Violet has also worked with Mother Kelly's, an independent craft beer supplier in London as a social media and brand consultant. 

She lives in Hackney, East London.
