A higher education professional, Jodi’s career has focused on widening participation, fostering student success and expanding access to international study opportunities. Previously as the Assistant Dean in the UCSB Graduate Division and more recently as the the Senior Director for UCLA Development Europe, Jodi’s work in higher education is driven by a passion to support the transformative power of higher education. Along with her considerable experience at the University of California, she also served as the Assistant Dean International in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at City University London, where she conceptualised, developed and reviewed new international partnerships with Universities in Europe and Asia.
Jodi received her BA in Psychology from UCSB and obtained her PhD in Education at UCLA, with an emphasis on community partnerships and community-based learning. During her time at UCLA, she served on the UC Board of Regents as the 2004-5 Student Regent where she was particularly focused on access and equity issues along with the expansion of sustainability efforts at the systemwide and campus-based levels. As an undergraduate, Jodi studied Spanish in Mexico via the UCEAP program and also participated in the UCDC internship program. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts as well as a member of the UCSB Legacy Circle and the UCLA Chancellor’s Society.
