Melanie Woiwode Memoriał Scholarship

The University of California Trust invites UC Education Abroad Programme students studying in the United Kingdom and Ireland to apply for grants from the Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Student Support Fund.

The goal of the Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship Fund is to facilitate life-changing sporting experiences for Californian women studying in the UK on the University of California Education Abroad Program. Woiwode Scholars typically receive grants between £40 and £200 to offset costs associated with undertaking a sporting activity on their year abroad.

Since it was started in 2008, the fund has supported the extra-curricular activities of 21 women in the education abroad program. They have utilized grants to participate in sports ranging from Hurley, Shinty, Rugby and Soccer, to Basketball and Lacrosse.

The scholarship committee encourages applications as early as possible in the academic year.
